Students visit Ulsan Safety Centre

Last week, our Hello Genius kindergarten students had a truly unforgettable learning experience as they visited the Ulsan Safety and Emergency Centre. This exciting field trip gave our young learners the chance to explore the world of emergency response, fire safety, and disaster preparedness — all in a fun and interactive way.

The students were welcomed by friendly staff who guided them through the centre’s interactive exhibits. They learned how firefighters and emergency workers keep people safe during fires, floods, and other emergencies.

From watching demonstrations of safety equipment to trying on kid-sized firefighter helmets, the children were fully engaged. Their favorite moment? Sitting in a real fire truck and pretending to be firefighters on a mission!

This trip wasn’t just about fun — it was a powerful lesson in safety awareness. Students practiced simple emergency drills, learned when and how to call for help, and discovered why teamwork is so important during a crisis.

Parents can be proud knowing their little ones now have a better understanding of how to stay calm and safe in emergencies — an essential life skill.

Building Confidence and Curiosity

Field trips like this one encourage our students to be curious, confident, and community-minded. Many of them returned to school eager to share what they learned with their friends and families, sparking important conversations about safety at home.

Life Lessons for Little Learners

This field trip went beyond ordinary classroom learning. It empowered our young learners with practical skills they can use in real life. By the end of the tour, students could confidently explain:

  • When and how to call emergency services.

  • Why fire drills are important at school and at home.

  • How working as a team can help keep everyone safe.

These lessons build confidence, awareness, and responsibility — skills that will serve them well as they grow.

On the ride back to school, the children were bubbling with stories to share. Some talked about how brave they felt sitting in the fire truck. Others proudly demonstrated how they would “stop, drop, and roll” if there was ever a fire.

Teachers noted that many students asked thoughtful questions throughout the day, showing just how curious and engaged they were. Moments like these remind us how powerful experiential learning can be for children.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the team at the Ulsan Safety and Emergency Centre for their warm hospitality and for making safety education so enjoyable for our students. The visit left a lasting impression on the children and gave them an opportunity to see the important work emergency responders do to keep our communities safe.

Kids this age will learn to recognize, write, order, and count objects up to the number 30. They will be able to add and subtract small numbers (add with a sum of 10 or less and subtract from 10 or less); this focus on addition and subtraction will continue through second grade.

Looking Ahead

At Hello Genius, we believe that learning should be as dynamic and inspiring as the world around us. Field trips like this one help students connect what they learn in class to the real world — and inspire them to keep asking questions, keep exploring, and keep growing.

Help your child understand the concept of time by saying what time it is during routine activities. Use and explain words like morning, noon, night, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Make a timeline together showing a typical day, with drawings of regular events and the time of day written beneath each one.

We look forward to many more adventures that encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence in our young learners!
